James Carville Tells Democrats Stay Calm Waiting for Results

Democratic strategist James Carville was urging calm in a late Tuesday evening MSNBC appearance, telling Democrats to “just put the razor blades and Ambien back in the medicine cabinet — we’re going to be fine.”

The situation that had Carville acting in contravention to his famous “Ragin’ Cajun” nickname was several early swing states going for President Donald Trump over Joe Biden, including Florida. Carville nonetheless remained unfazed, and urged his fellow Democrats to follow his example.

“First thing is every Democrat — just put the razor blades and the Ambien back in the medicine cabinet,” Carville told anchor Brian Williams. “We’re gonna be fine, we’re gonna be fine.”

Carville pointed to Michigan and Pennsylvania still looking hopeful for the Democrats, and Biden’s stronger-than-expected showing in Georgia so far. He acknowledged that he had boldly predicted an early result just yesterday, but still “I think we’re going to be just fine.”

“I’m very optimistic,” Carville continued. “People are rerunning the numbers. And we just have to hang in there, and we’re going to win this thing. I promise you.”

Carville made a reference to the bottle of bourbon seen on a table behind him, a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve, a highly-sought-after brand that is regarded as one of the finest bourbons in the world.

“I think I’ll be able to crack it open, maybe not tonight as I hoped, but I will crack that little puppy open before this is over.”

After discussing some of the state results so far, Williams again turned the conversation to the bourbon. “I’m duty bound to ask if the bottle behind you started the night full.”

“Well, no. That’s stuff is about $200 an ounce, and I parsed it out pretty good, so I’ll be — Uncle Pappy, he’s not coming out until I’m sure, but right now I feel good,” said Carville, noting that he felt good about the numbers in Pennsylvania, and the areas in Georgia where there were still outstanding votes were also favorable for Biden.

“Everybody hang in there. We’re just going to be fine. We’ve got to have the attitude of a winner here, and we’re going to be a winner.”

Fitness CEO James Gullatte moved from prison to business owner

His name is James Gullatte, but you can call him Boss. His biceps, decorated with tattoos from a past life, bulge out of a cobalt T-shirt that shares his company tagline, Results Do Matter.

In 2004, Gullatte arrived in Columbus with about $100 in his pocket and a laser-sharp focus: to help as many people as possible get fit. Overcoming obstacles from poverty to homelessness and incarceration, today he’s a certified fitness trainer and owner of B.O.S.S. Fitness, a two-room gym just southeast of Downtown, where he has logged over 175,680 training hours with roughly 1,500 clients and has earned over $2 million.

Paint me a picture of you while growing up.

Gullatte: I grew up in Westwood. Growing up in Dayton, you either did two things: worked at GM or ran the streets. I started running the streets around 11 years old. I began to go take care of myself, stealing candy. I was taking it to school, selling two candy bars for a quarter, to make money, to take care of the things I couldn’t get at home.

James Gullatte owns B.O.S.S. Fitness on E. Livingston Avenue.

What do you think made you turn to crime at such a young age?

Gullatte: I remember the first time I got caught stealing. Everybody came over, so it triggered a signal in my mind that if you get in trouble, you get attention. I was a baseball star and I was traveling all over Ohio on all-star teams and made it to the Little League World Series, but no one ever came to the games. I translated getting in trouble with getting attention.

You spent time at a youth detention center in west Columbus. Why do you think you continued your path after you left there at 17?

Gullatte: When I got home, there were people now standing on the streets selling drugs. The community was going downhill. But everybody had money. I began to steal cars.

I had this small goal: I wanted to be able to purchase a kilo of cocaine, which at the time was $24,000, around 1987. It was all about survival. But then the bottom fell out. I became addicted to cocaine. That was part of the reason why my business fell apart, and I ended up with seven children by four different women. I lost everything and became homeless from 21 to 34. Sandwiched in between were 10 years in prison.

Can you point to a time, while incarcerated, when you decided to change your life?

Gullatte: Prison is where I learned how to love me. This picture is still in my head: It was 1995. I had just worked out, and I was feeling good about what I was doing, and it just hit me, it stopped me: I asked myself, “Do you love yourself?” I took a hard look at myself at age 25, while I was sitting inside this cage, and my journey began to change. From that point on, it was about how

As 2020 has indeed proven to be an unrelenting year of challenges as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, government mandated quarantines, the economic collapse, and more, now more than ever, Americans are realizing the importance of maintaining a healthy and fit lifestyle. While the year has forced many business owners to reevaluate their companies and businesses, Colorado-based health and fitness visionary, Dr. Jeremy James saw the disadvantages of 2020 as an opportunity to reexamine how he could help optimize the performance and physical activity of Americans everywhere and recognized the demand for a safe and effective exercise program that people could utilize at home. With this, he developed FITFOREVER, the first of its kind, digital fitness platform that is completely customized to a user’s body and can be performed from home.

As many might have realized during quarantine, the current landscape for digital fitness programs revealed how most approaches enlist a one-size-fits-all style of for training. Though it may work for some, for others, an approach like this often leads to injuries and inefficient workouts. In light of this realization, Dr. James along with his team of health and medical experts designed FITFOREVER to serve its users with a personalized fitness program that meets their needs, abilities, goals, and equipment availability.

With an extensive background in chronic back pain and human biomechanics, Dr. James is known for his best-selling book The Younger Next Year Back Book as well as two other programs, BACKFOREVER and GOLFFOREVER. After designing these two programs as a way to help people regain mobility and retrain the body to move freely without pain in the back or body, Dr. James saw huge success rates within his client base. With the foundation of his two prior programs, the fitness expert parlayed this expertise into FITFOREVER, with its focus being a comprehensive digital fitness platform that ranks helping users feel great as a top priority.

“Our method is simple,” says Dr. James. “At FITFOREVER, our focus is on building a highly functional body that feels great. Looking good is just a wonderful side effect.”

Through a personal assessment test, the program is the first of its kind, as it builds out a workout plan specifically designed to cater to each user’s body type, physical capabilities and goals. The program also takes into consideration things like pre-existing pain and injuries as well as the type of workout equipment a user has available to use. With daily-guided workout videos, users will enjoy their customized fitness plan as they begin their journey to building a strong foundation of physical activity and health, something Dr. James intends for all FITFOREVER members. While most existing digital fitness resources and platforms focus solely on aesthetic, FITFOREVER is one of the first to prioritize longevity and overall wellness.

“I saw a need to provide consumers with an educational foundation for greater mobility and healthy living,” says Dr. James.

Carlo Ancelotti issues James Rodriguez Everton fitness update

Carlo Ancelotti has revealed Everton will check on James Rodriguez over the next few days following Everton’s loss to Southampton.

The Blues were handed their first defeat of 2020/21, but still stayed top of the league, on Sunday afternoon at St Mary’s as the hosts secured a 2-0 win.

Goals from James Ward-Prowse and Che Adams were enough to seal the points for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side with Everton playing well below the level they have so far this term.

Towards the end of the game, with the visitors having made all three substitutions, Rodriguez seemed to be struggling as the final minutes played out.

However, his manager doesn’t believe the problem is a big one.

Ancelotti told his post-match press conference: “I think we have to check in the next few days.

“He was tired at the end, he felt his muscle a little bit. But I don’t think it’s a big problem.

“It’s true that the game was difficult for everyone.”

Everton lost their for the first time this season on Sunday, ending a run of eight matches unbeaten in all competitions to get 2020/21 off to a flying start.

Ancelotti was disappointed with the defeat, but believes his side shouldn’t be too down-hearted after what has been a tremendous start to the campaign.

“It was not a good day, it was not a good performance,” he added.

“We are here to talk about the first defeat and I think we have to move forward. Of course, we don’t like to lose games, but in football it happens.

“We arrived after a fantastic start and so we have to move forward from this game with the same belief as we had when we arrived here.

“It can happen.

“I’m disappointed because we lost the game, but I cannot forget what we did until now.

“We did really well honestly and we have to keep going to continue to do well. This is the point, we don’t have to be too disappointed.

“We are still at the top of the table, this is an unbelievable achievement for us. We have to try to stay there.”
